London 2012 | The O’clock Cocktail
Myself & @theminivale are celebrating the start of London 2012 with British/Olympic themed cocktails… The first of which is this; The O’Clock. We both love a Pimm’s or 6, so I thought a twist on the traditional Pimm’s cup would be a good start and as my favourite cocktail is a Negroni I thought a twist on this would make it something special.
First muddle 1 fresh strawberry, 2 thin slices of cucumber and 4 mint leaves. When muddled add ice. Then add a half shot of Pimm’s #1, Gran Marnier and sweet vermouth. Next a shot of Beefeater and a shot of Tanqueray (2 different gins, so we can appreciate boths flavours whilst enhancing the Pimm’s #1’s natural base. Shake and double strain into a pre chilled coupe/rocks glass, that has been rimmed with icing sugarand in order to gain a creamy yet sweet balance.
Enjoy your Olympic opening night! J.LL (& CV)
